My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I came in with my friend Patrick 206207 and would love to find a home with them!

I lived with children in my previous home.

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

Emily tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

A volunteer writes: Emily is very kind. She seems to know that we can't all be the stars of the show and is perfectly ok stepping back to give others their chance to shine. Gently observing everything from the top of her cubby without trying to join the party, I offered her my hand. She sniffed for just a moment before sweetly tucking her head down and curling into an affectionate kitty circle. Emily may not be the type to hop her paws on my chest for hugs, and honestly she didn't even come down from her cubby, but she has made enormous progress since coming to the Care Center and we are so proud of her. The first time I met Emily, I did a double take as she's so uniquely gorgeous, but since she was snuggled up in the condo corner, I didn't try to introduce myself. This was back in August when Emily was first brought to us with another kitty because their person passed away. We learned that Emily likes to do things on her own time and has been slowly coming out of her shell. She's so sweetly affectionate and doesn't ask for so much, only for someone to love and welcome her for who she is.
