Meet Eloise! She is medical for having heartworms and needing a calm environment for her treatment.
Volunteers have said:` She is shy but very sweet, tolerant, dainty and cooperative. She took treats very gently but isn`t very snack oriented. She was simple to leash up and walk and had no reaction whatsoever to all the dogs barking at her through their kennel doors. She strolls along nice and easy and follows instructions well. We went to a play yard where she absolutely loved smelling everything and checking out people, cars, and dogs in the parking lot. This girl is very interested in everything going on around her and she explores things in such a quiet and calm way. She also enjoyed delicately dipping her toes in the pool. And she was very compliant and mellow while I brushed her. She was fairly independent and not much for cuddling or showing lots of affection but she did check in with me often and looked to me for assurance. With time and trust, this good girl will definitely blossom into a loving and devoted companion.`
In the catchpen Eloise had a loose body and was appropriately tolerating greetings through the fence. When entered into the yard she was very nervous and was portraying kick-me signs but was tolerant of the dogs that came up to greet her. She mainly wandered the yard and kept to herself or near the handlers. She corrected the other dogs appropriately for space and was steerable by the handlers.
