My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tassels: A Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold

Introducing Tassels, also lovingly called Mumma by her fosters, a majestic 1.5-year-old Mastiff/Mountain Cur mix whose journey to happiness is truly inspiring.

Rescued from a life of uncertainty while extremely pregnant and terrified, Tassels has shown incredible resilience. She was elusive for over a year, only seen on a Ring camera in the Detroit neighborhood she roamed, until we finally secured her safety. Since then, she has blossomed in foster care, watching her babies find their forever homes. Now, it's her turn!

Why Tassels is Special:

Loving and Affectionate: Tassels expresses her love by placing her massive head in your lap or under your hand for scratches. Her affectionate nature makes her a wonderful companion.

Well-Trained and Mannered: She knows basic commands, is potty trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash.

Playful and Joyful: Despite her size, Tassels is playful and enjoys the simple pleasures of cuddling, playing with toys, and lounging in the grass on sunny days. Her zoomies are a sight to behold and bring laughter and joy to everyone around her.

Curious and Easygoing: Over the months, Tassels has overcome her initial shyness and now approaches life with curiosity and ease. She’s come to enjoy her interactions with people and her foster sibling.

Tassels’ Ideal Home: Tassels would thrive in a home without cats or small dogs. She can live with another dog, but a proper, slow introduction is necessary to ensure a harmonious relationship. Her ideal family will be one that can provide stability, plenty of space for her to stretch her legs, and lots of love. She responds wonderfully to food, affection, and praise, making her a delightful and grateful companion.

Is Tassels the Missing Piece in Your Family? If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and serene companion to add warmth and joy to your home, consider welcoming Tassels into your life. She promises to fill your days with affection and happiness.

Ready to adopt Tassels? Apply today! Visit our website to fill out an adoption application and learn more about how you can bring Tassels home!

Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home and we want our adopters to be prepared for that!
