My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I`m Echo.
I`m a sweet soul, a little shy but playful once I warm up. I might take a little while to come out of my shell, but I promise I`m worth the wait. Despite my size, I`m just a big fluff ball who loves cuddles and playtime. My favorite pastime is playing with toys, any toy will do, it`s all a game to me. I get to playing and then the zoomies come out and the next thing I know I am feeling the wind in my hair and loving life. I`m independent, yet gentle and sweet, always ready to give a comforting nuzzle when you need it. I’m good with other animals too, so if you have any other furry friends at home, I`d love to meet them. I just need a little love and patience to help me come out of my shell. If you`re looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, I`m your guy. Adopt me, let`s create beautiful memories together.

More about this shelter

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as the municipal shelter for Allegany County and is located at 716 Furnace Street in Cumberland. For many years, the shelter served as the final destination for nearly 85% of the animals that entered it. In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens led the charge to change the nature of the shelter with a goal of doing as much as possible for every animal, every day. It was the first step on the journey to becoming A Shelter of Hope.
