My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

For The Cats' Sake

We always request that if adopters need to rehome cats adopted from us, that they return them to us. This is unfortunately what recently happened to ISABELLA and MIRABEL, as their adopter’s health became a problem and they could no longer be taken care of. The two girls, that are about to have their one year birthdays, are now available for adoption again and we hope to find them new homes, not necessarily together.

ISABELLA is a beautiful and loving mix of dilute calico and sortie. She is still petite and full of playful kitten charm. Her personality would probably allow her to be happy as the only cat, or she'd be fine with others. We know Isabella loves the company of humans and will be a joy to whomever adopts her!

MIRABEL is just as beautiful and sweet. When you pick up MIRABEL she will start purring. She likes other cats, although she is more hesitant of them than her sister is. She's a perfect cutie and is almost a mix of calico, dilute Tortie AND tabby!

Both girls are spayed, vaccinated and healthy. IF INTERESTED in adopting one or both of these girls, please fill out our easy online application below.

ONLINE ADOPTION FORM:        https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152

We do not have a fixed adoption fee at For The Cats' Sake, but instead ask for a tax-deductible donation to our group. On average, we spend over $200 to cover foster care, testing for FeLV and FIV, vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming and any vet care/medicine that is needed. We ask for a minimum donation oft $80 per cat, and many adopters cover more of our costs if they are able to. Our goal is to find the best home for each animal, and we feel this policy makes it possible for more people to adopt one or more cats. It is important to us that every adopter can afford to care for their pets properly and give them a home for life.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an application which includes vet references and landlord permission for renters. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the cats/kittens in their foster homes so they see them in a comfortable situation. In many instances a volunteer will deliver the cat/kitten to their new home to assist the family in preparing their home getting the adoption off to a good start. There are no set fees, we request a donation.

More about this rescue

For The Cats' Sake was founded in 2014 in response to a need for TNR in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Since that time, we have encountered many situations where there is no place for the cats to be returned. In other instances the cats are friendly or there are momma cats too pregnant to be spayed, or young kittens that are adoptable, but need socialization and foster care. Currently we have about 40 cats and kittens in foster care being prepared for adoption. All felines are Up to Date on vaccinations and tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Depending on age at time of adoption, they are also Spayed/Neutered.
