Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Butterball: The Sweet Soul Learning to Love Life!

Introducing Butterball, a delightful young pit mix whose journey from hardship to happiness captures the essence of resilience and the power of love. Found chained up and abandoned in a Detroit alleyway- under the gentle guidance of his foster, Butterball has discovered what it means to be loved, cared for, and cherished. He is now ready to find his forever family!

What Makes Butterball Special?
Butterball adores playing with toys, basking in the sun, and receiving endless belly rubs. His gentle nature makes him a joy to be around, and his soft approach to taking treats shows his polite and grateful demeanor.

A Love for Learning:
Despite his challenging past, Butterball is proving to be an incredibly smart and adaptable pup. He’s quickly catching on to daily routines and showing great potential in learning new commands. His food motivation makes training sessions both fun and rewarding, paving the way for continuous growth and development.

Great with Kids and Potential with Other Dogs:
Butterball is wonderful with children, showing a patient and kind nature that makes him a fantastic family pet. With a slow and proper introduction, he’s also likely to get along well with other dogs. His ability to adapt and learn from positive interactions will help him integrate into a home with other pets.

Looking for a Loving Home:
Butterball’s ideal family will be one that can provide the patience, understanding, and continued training he needs to thrive. Having lived on a chain before his rescue, he is still mastering the comforts and routines of indoor living, including potty training and basic commands. A home willing to invest time in his development will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion.

Why Adopt Butterball?
Adopting Butterball means giving a second chance to a dog who has never known a true home. He offers not just companionship but a heart full of gratitude and love. With each day in a loving environment, Butterball blossoms a little more, showing just how rewarding it is to transform a life through care and affection.

Ready to open your heart and home to Butterball?
This sweet boy is ready to fill your life with joy, companionship, and plenty of cuddles.

Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home and we want our adopters to be prepared for that!
