My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rusty: The Resilient Firehouse Hero Ready to Warm Your Heart!

Rusty's journey to recovery is nothing short of heroic. Originally found by firefighters, this special boy captured the hearts of everyone at the firehouse during a frightening time. After suffering from severe seizures caused by foreign objects in his stomach, Rusty was rushed to emergency veterinary care, where he bravely fought to stabilize and recover. Today, Rusty is a vibrant and loving dog, ready to find his forever family.

What Makes Rusty Special?
Rusty is the epitome of affection and resilience. He adores being close to his humans and will happily curl up by your side, offering cuddles and comfort. Despite his rough start, Rusty's spirit remains unbroken, and his capacity for love is immense.

A Bundle of Energy and Intelligence:
Rusty is not only sweet; he’s also incredibly smart. He thrives on learning new tricks and has already mastered several basic commands. His love for running around the backyard and embarking on new adventures makes him the perfect companion for active families or individuals.

Well-Mannered and Sociable:
Rusty is crate and potty trained, making him a wonderful indoor companion. He walks well on a leash and loves exploring the great outdoors. While Rusty is friendly with all people and good with dogs following proper introductions, he is particularly great with kids. However, due to his size and goofy nature, he might be best suited for families with older children who can handle his enthusiastic displays of affection.

Ideal Home for Rusty:
Rusty would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of love, activity, and ongoing training to continue his development. He would do well in a setting where he can be a central part of the family, joining in on walks, playtime, and relaxation.

Why Adopt Rusty?
Adopting Rusty means welcoming a dog who has shown incredible strength and love against all odds. He promises to be a loyal, affectionate, and joyful addition to any home, ready to give back all the love he receives tenfold.

Ready to Open Your Home to Rusty?
This amazing boy is looking forward to continuing his healing journey with a loving family. If you're ready to make a heroic difference in Rusty's life, he’s ready to fill yours with love and happiness.

Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
