Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gregarious, Exuberant, Social
The Meowsfits - called "Baxter" in his foster home - is ready to be your very loyal companion! He takes his relationships seriously, and won't play fast and loose with your heart; when he saunters over and flings himself into your lap, it's the real deal. Unable to hold his affection in, he will run to you when he sees you!
It's hard to believe that Baxter Meowsfits was a former tough guy living on the streets! He has a kitten's exuberance and excitement in your presence. But, he also remembers his regal feline dignity and will sit and groom his gorgeous brown and black tabby coat, which includes polka dots on his back - and a pristine white bib and boots! He's fastidious with his exquisite coat.
Baxter Meowsfits is highly interactive with his humans! He loves company and is happy when you spend time with him. He likes to decide when he wants to hang out with you, and when he wants some "me" time. After dinner he loves sitting right next to you, with his big paws on your lap, and gazing up at you with his crystal-clear, green eyes. Other times, he wants to chill on the sofa next to you, but on his own kitty cushion.
When it comes to playing, Baxter Meowsfits will climb the cat tree, chase a toy you pull around, bunny kick toys, and dive through the cat tunnel! He is an agile and athletic guy who can leap and spring, and is lightning-fast when it comes to pouncing on a favorite toy. He also chases toy balls - until he chases them under the sofa! Never a dull moment with Baxter Meowsfits.
Speaking of meows...he will meow to say hello and to protest if you close him behind a door. He wants to be where you are!
With other cats, Baxter Meowsfits likes to be the boss. He can dominate another cat, and may do better with a female kitty friend. He probably would also be fine as your one and only kitty!
A typical day with him includes eating, sitting in your lap, playing...and repeat! Sounds perfect to us. He would likely be best with adults, young adults, and older kids who can respect when he wants some alone time. We haven't seen him around a dog.
His ideal home would have a couple of cat trees, lots of toys, and plenty of indoor space for him to roam around. If you have an enclosed patio or a catio, that would be extra wonderful!
Baxter Meowsfits will share his amazing spirit with you and literally throw himself into his companionship with you! Give him a little time to adapt, and you will fall in love with him and cherish him as your cat boy. It's amazing to be his friend as he puts his whole heart into your world!

The Meowsfits has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. He can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.
All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
