Meet Mildred! Mildred is our special senior lady. At 10-12 years old, Mildred was adopted from us several years ago, and we weren't able to find her family. This older gal is a big fan of being outside, smelling new plants, and generally exploring. She can be a bit aloof at first, but does well with other dogs, especially puppies. The shelter is no place for old dogs, so Mildred is looking for a place to hang out until she can find her forever home! Mildred is spayed and ready to go to her new home today! Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor.

The Tehama County Animal Care Center provides animal sheltering services for all of Tehama and Glenn Counties. We house and care for stray dogs, surrendered cats, and various other species. Adopt a new pet here!
The Tehama County Animal Care Center is owned by Tehama County and operated by the Department of Agriculture, Division of Animal Services.
Our mission is to practice and promote compassionate care of all animals, both in our care and in the community we serve.
We strive to reunite lost animals with their owners and find forever homes for animals whose owners cannot be located. We work closely with several rescues to transfer some of our animals to other locations so they can find homes in other areas. We are extremely proud of our high rate live release rate and incredibly grateful to the organizations and volunteers who make it possible!
