SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Maddie is a lovely girl who came to us recently from our favorite WV shelter partner. We do not know her history but guess she was someone's beloved pet. Once a short "warming up" period, Maddie is quick to seek out love and attention from people. She can be a little vocal with new dogs, but has been a good friend to those she has interacted with. With an adorable underbite, Maddie will steal your heart! Believed to be about 3 years old she is fully grown at just over 20 pounds. She's a great size for most homes and would enjoy being a couch potato! Maddie is in good health,spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the time to shower Maddie with love and attention and who can offer her a home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of both Maddie and match our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet with Maddie at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting her and determining that she matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
