Meet Eggy, a nervous 2-year-old male pup with a heart full of potential. Found tied to a pole in a state park with a bag of supplies, Eggy has had a rough start but is slowly learning to trust again. Though he's still nervous around strangers, his courage is growing every day. With patience and love, Eggy is gradually warming up and showing his sweet side. If you're ready to delve into a rewarding journey of helping a shy dog find his confidence, Eggy is waiting to be your loyal companion. Due to his fear we are recommending an adult only home.

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter boasts one of the highest adoption rates in the nation. Come tour the Animal Shelter, meet a dog or cat, and bring the love of a pet into your home. All adopted pets will be spayed or neutered, will receive required inoculations and will be microchipped. These are included in adoption fees.
