Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We can't believe we're saying it BUT, Mason needs a home again! This is one phenomenal dog here.....we're not sugar-coating it. Mason is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you'll ever meet. He's almost 6 years old now and he's been with us a few times already and we are just devastated that he's back again. His adopter moved and couldn't take him along. Mason needs a pet-free home, but that is the ONE and only requirement he has. Aside from that, Mason is perfect! Although he's strong, he's so well-behaved and he's just a big baby. He's great on a leash, he sits, lays down, stays, offers a pawshake.....you name it, Mason knows it! He adores people of all ages too! Mason is known to flop on his back for belly rubs and enjoys that more than anything else in the world. Mason does not do well in the shelter. He's anxious here and it takes a toll on his health, so he's available for foster or adoption, whatever gives him the best home quickly! We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
