Oreo came to us in November 2022. She had been abandoned in a nearby neighborhood at a construction site and been running around there since July (we were told). She followed us home from a walk and ended up staying with us as we were unable to find her another home. She was so sweet we didn’t want to turn her back out when we found out she was a stray.
We enrolled Oreo in training, got her all the shots, got her fixed, and microchipped her. She has been a very loving and easy dog to incorporate into our family with small children (current ages 10 months, 3.5 and 5). The exception has been her attention to our cat. We previously kept them separated with a gate, but Oreo has suddenly discovered she can jump it and has seriously harmed our cat.
She does have trauma which shows itself when she goes to the vet, or when you try to clip her nails. Those activities make her so scared she will lose her bowels and she needs to be muzzled.
Her favorite things are cuddling and laying by you.
