My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Cynthea! I’m an affectionate, playful girl who absolutely thrives on love and attention. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, and I’d be happiest in a home without cats. I’m a big fan of decompression walks, where I can take in the sights and smells at my own pace, but I can get excited and pull on the leash sometimes, so I’ll need an owner who can guide me. I’m full of energy and always ready for playtime, whether it’s fetch, tug-of-war, or just some fun bonding time with you! If you're looking for a loving, playful, and eager-to-please companion who will shower you with affection and keep you on your toes, I’m your girl!

More about this shelter

Since 1957, the Humane Society of St. Thomas has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect and working to create an environment of respect, responsibility and compassion for all animals throughout the territory. Our functional and new campus sits on 4.7 acres and consists of five major buildings. We are an open admission shelter, meaning that our doors are always open for any animal that we can legally accept. The Humane Society of St. Thomas is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

We are the only animal shelter serving the residents of St. Thomas, and other than a small contract with the government of the Virgin Islands we are dependent entirely upon donations and the good will of the community
