My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Holly is a sweet and affectionate cat who adores being the center of attention. With a deep love for being brushed, she'll happily rub her face against the brush if you hold it out for her, making grooming time a special bonding experience. Holly's affectionate nature is undeniable, but she can sometimes get a little too excited during play or petting sessions, leading her to nip at hands. To keep her happy and relaxed, it's best to switch to toys when you see her starting to get overstimulated. Her love for play and interaction shines through when she chases after her favorite toys, providing endless entertainment for both her and her family.

Due to her tendency to overstimulate and her sensitivity to loud noises, Holly would thrive in a calm, quiet home without children. She prefers a peaceful environment where she can feel safe and secure, making her an ideal companion for someone who understands her unique needs. Holly is not fond of being held, so she will need a patient and understanding owner who respects her boundaries while showering her with the love and care she craves. With the right home, Holly will be a devoted and loving companion, bringing warmth and joy to her forever family.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
