My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOOKING FOR A FOSTER TO ADOPT!

Meet BMO, a spirited and quirky 3.5-year-old, 14lb pup with a big personality and a need for a home that understands his unique traits. Whether you’re seeking an energetic hiking buddy or a calm companion for quiet evenings, BMO is the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. He thrives on games like tug-of-war, fetch, and hand wrestling and adores long walks and zoomies after potty breaks.

BMO loves his cozy crate, fluffy blankets, and plush beds where he can decompress and feel secure. While he enjoys affection, he can become overwhelmed if it’s too much, preferring clear communication and respect for his boundaries. He warms up slowly to new people but forms deep bonds once trust is built, becoming a loving and loyal companion.

BMO’s Needs:

  • Do: Advocate for his space, set boundaries, and maintain clear expectations. He appreciates having a structure and enjoys his own downtime to relax.

  • Don’t: Allow him on furniture, as it can lead to resource guarding. Avoid extreme affection, invading his space while he’s sleeping, or leaving food out. Free roaming doesn’t suit his anxious nature, as it may trigger behaviors like barking, whining, or guarding.

BMO’s biggest challenge is resource guarding, especially his crate and personal spaces like beds or couches. He’s also insecure around strangers and may react if his space is invaded. To help him transition, he’ll thrive in a foster-to-adopt setup, where his adopter can work with his trainer to build a strong foundation and ensure a smooth adjustment.

BMO currently coexists with cats and dogs in his foster home, but he would do best as the only dog. He’s shown that he can peacefully live with cats.

With the right adopter who can provide structure, boundaries, and love, BMO will flourish into a loyal, entertaining, and affectionate companion. If you’re ready for the rewarding journey of helping BMO reach his full potential, he’s ready to meet you!

The DONATION FEE may be paid by Venmo (@WaggytailRescue) or Paypal (waggytailrescue@gmail.com, add $15 processing fee). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred!
You may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue), however processing of adoptions may be delayed by up to 2 weeks.
If your new buddy is not yet neutered, a $100 refundable deposit must be paid at adoption.
