My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jammer is a bright, energetic, affectionate boy. He loves to play and to snuggle. In the morning he waits patiently to be picked up and held like a baby over the shoulder and turn on the purr machine. His outgoing nature helps his shy friend Low Down come out of her shell. Jam loves exploring and when he sniffs he sounds like a piglet. He’s been called, “the catest cat”. A classic kitten through and through, this guy’s got everything including perfect spotty little socks.

Low Down is a shy little sweety-petitty. She’s still getting used to humans but she loves her outgoing feline BFF Jammer. This little girl gets braver by the day and is a BIG fan of climbing and exploring. She loves to play with interactive toys like the fishing pole and has adopted a little sushi plush which she brings everywhere she goes. L.D. isn’t a huge fan of being touched by people just yet but she likes a pet while eating (and rubs her back up for scritches) and is happy to lick something tasty off of your finger. Her shiny black coat has tufts of white on her neck and belly, she’s not quite a tuxedo but she’s definitely semi-formal and ready to party!

Please note that they may not yet be spayed/neutered.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
