My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mamma Mia is part of our embankment mals! She and 6 others were rescued off a 20’ embankment. They had to be trapped and then the trap drug up the embankment to rescue them. They were all severely underweight and were very timid with people upon entering rescue. Considering the state they were in, these are some of the most forgiving and resilient dogs I’ve ever met.

Mamma Mia is medium energy, crate trained, has started basic obedience and is big-dog social.

No small animals for mamma!

She absolutely ADORES affection, likes playing with toys and is food driven. She’s very smart and was the protector of the other embankment dogs. The other mals took her lead for everything.

She can be a little food-aggressive with other dogs, so we do recommend separate feeding.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If you see a pet you’re interested in or you don’t but you would like to adopt from our organization anyway, please fill out an application!

2.

Meet the Pet

We set up first meet and greets in a public location for you to get to know the dog(s) you’re interested in.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do require a second meet and greet, which also helps if you’re torn between multiples! We encourage you to meet at least 2 dogs!

4.

Home Check

If the home check is goes well and everyone is still confident, the contract is signed, fee paid and your new dog can stay that day!

More about this rescue

We are long-time animal lovers working hard to reduce the number of euthanized dogs in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to house and employ veterans, teach them how to prepare a dog for adoption and should they wish, reach them to run a successful rescue so they may take our model and open one anywhere there’s a need of Veterans and K9’s alike!
