My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reggie is our resident senior GSD! He’s around 10-ish years old, but when you bring out a toy, he acts like a puppy wanting to play!

Reggie has protection and narcotics training (he is looking for a RETIREMENT home, NOT A WORKING HOME).

Reggie loves to work and would love to find a working-dog experienced adopter who can safely will play tug with him (IYKYK), let him go search for things and will take him on many adventures. He responds best to men but will also listen to women.

Reggie loves car rides, is good for baths and blow drying, he’s crate-trained, housebroken, has a ton of training on him.

He is dog neutral and human social!

High toy, high food, medium prey drives.

Reggie would likely be happiest in a home with a calm but playful and polite female dog of similar size or as the only dog in the home.

No small animals (including small dogs) for handsomest boy Reggie- he *has* shown reactivity toward small dogs in public.

Reggie would *not* enjoy dog parks.

Reggie is pretty low-maintenance as long as you’ll get him out for walks and give him proper mental stimulation. He is not destructive and does not try to escape. As long as Reggie gets a little exercise each day, he is absolutely lovely in the house and will watch movies with you on the couch for hours.

He lived a rough life before coming into rescue, and now he deserves to find that soft place to retire.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If you see a pet you’re interested in or you don’t but you would like to adopt from our organization anyway, please fill out an application!

2.

Meet the Pet

We set up first meet and greets in a public location for you to get to know the dog(s) you’re interested in.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do require a second meet and greet, which also helps if you’re torn between multiples! We encourage you to meet at least 2 dogs!

4.

Home Check

If the home check is goes well and everyone is still confident, the contract is signed, fee paid and your new dog can stay that day!

More about this rescue

We are long-time animal lovers working hard to reduce the number of euthanized dogs in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to house and employ veterans, teach them how to prepare a dog for adoption and should they wish, reach them to run a successful rescue so they may take our model and open one anywhere there’s a need of Veterans and K9’s alike!
