Winnie is a sweetheart. She has a submissive personality and looks to her people for reassurance and guidance. She loves to cuddle and snuggle with her favorite people (and everyone is her favorite people!) She is housebroken and crate trained. The foster family states that they have two small children and Winnie never tried to take food from their hands. In fact, you can remove food from Winnie's mouth and she gives it up willingly. She sits and waits patiently for her meals. She lived with a dog in the foster home and has done well in play groups at the shelter. We are continuing her leash training because she tends to pull. She wears a harness and that helps. Winnie does need a home without cats. She loves receiving and giving affection and attention. She is a hugger and cuddler and gives kisses freely. She allows petting all over and is easily handled. The foster family was asked to describe her personality and they said "sweet, loving, playful -- just a perfect dog". She is eager to learn and likes to please her people. Her favorite thing besides the kids is stuffed toys. She likes to carry them around with her. This is one amazing little girl! Take the Pet Home
Adopt and the pet is legally yours! Or choose to "slumber party" which is a trial adoption. You will have up to two weeks to decide.

The adoption fee is $60 for a dog and $35 for a cat. Those living within Citrus County, FL. will also purchase a $10 county license fee.

Kittens under 6 months of age are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), and Cats over 6months of age are tested for FeLV and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Dogs over 6 months of age are tested for heartworm disease. If the dog is heartworm positive, the treatment will be provided by our Veterinarian, at no cost to the adopter, sponsored by our generous community partner Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection (CCFAP).
