Meet Yumi, a striking 11-month-old black and tan female hound and shepherd mix, weighing around 44 pounds (and still growing!). Yumi has been at the shelter since August 2024 after being surrendered by her previous owner, along with another canine companion, due to too much responsibility, so no fault of her own. Yumi is simply a beautiful, loving dog looking for a fresh start.
Abundantly beautiful inside and out, Yumi truly lives up to the meaning of her name. She’s ready to find her forever home and is now available for adoption with a special offer: her adoption fee has been sponsored! That means you can bring this sweet girl home, fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, at absolutely no cost to you. What a `Yumi` deal! If you`re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will light up your life, Yumi might be the perfect match for you.

More about this shelter
The Daviess County Animal Shelter receives thousands of animals annually. Some of them are returned to their owners, some find new homes, but unfortunately some are never placed in a home. This is why it is so important that these animals find new homes.
