Why I need a new home

Behavioral issues

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mira is an incredible dog, but we need to re-home her due to our issues containing her. We adopted her from our local humane society 6mos ago. The good: Mira is extremely sweet, LOVES people (men, women, and small children), gets along well with dogs and cats, is eager to please and trains easily (she knows sit, lay down, stay, shake, walks on loose lead, recall), she loves activity including running/hiking/swimming, and she loves being with her people.

The issues for us: it has been hard for us to keep her contained. She has dug/jumped/squeezed her way out of many fences. She can be very anxious, even when she is at home with us in her regular quiet safe space. This anxiety means she has done a lot of chewing and destruction. She has a high prey drive for birds which leads to our biggest reason we need to rehome: she has killed our neighbor’s chickens on two occasions.

Mira needs a home with 6ft fences or kept inside and exercised daily. She would do well w/ another dog!
