Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Meet Brick!**
Brick is a 4-year-old, 40-pound Lab cattle dog mix with a heart of gold and a love for life. He was abandoned at a coffee shop in Stockdale, but despite this rocky start, Brick has maintained his friendly and good-natured demeanor.
This playful and outgoing pup loves people and other dogs, making him the perfect companion for an active household. Brick enjoys his walks and doesn't pull on the leash—in fact, he's earned the nickname "Brick" because he'll stop when he doesn't want to go in the same direction!
Brick is currently learning basic commands like "sit," "wait," and "off," and he's doing great with training. He’s especially proud of learning to sit before his leash goes on. Speaking of leashes, Brick loves them, and he also adores catching grasshoppers, playing with other dogs, and snuggling up with his favorite humans.
Brick doesn't play rough, but he has a playful side where he loves to use his paw and give gentle love bites. He’s also a big fan of toys and will happily entertain himself or join in the fun with others.
Brick is looking for a forever home that will continue his training, give him plenty of love, and embrace his playful spirit. Could Brick be the perfect addition to your family? IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.
Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt
All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.
ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.
Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport
We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

More about this rescue
We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.
Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.
Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
