My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Denny! I am a sweet boy that needs a bit of time before I am comfortable with new people. I love to go for long walks with my people. When I get comfortable with someone new you will find I have quite the playful and silly side. I love to zoom around outdoors and chase my people when playing tag. If I sound like the pur-fect fit for you, apply today!

~ Denny is looking for an active home that will be able to take him on lots of adventures
~ Denny would do best in a home of adults or children close to adult age due to his nervousness
~ While in our care we have seen some resource guarding with his food and his new family will need to be able to work with him on this behaviour
~ Denny will need to be signed up for training prior to going into his fur-ever home to ensure he works on building his confidence

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed:
- Resource Guarding
- Nervous / Shy
- High Energy
- Under-Socialized

Explanation of Behaviours:
- Denny is under-socialized; his new family will need to slowly and positively work on socializing him to the world around him.
- Denny is a young and high-energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, enrichment and training to set him up for success.
- Denny can be fearful/nervous of new people especially in new situations/environments. His new family will need to work with him to slowly and properly help him feel more comfortable and confident with new things and introductions.
- Denny has shown to have some possible resource guarding while in our care specifically with his food.

This dog would benefit from:
- A family with older closer to adult age children
- An active family
- Lots of training and socialization
- Lots of time and attention

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Basic training
- Basic manners
- Socialization
- Resource guarding - food

**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
