Here's what the humans have to say about me:

La Quinta, affectionately known as Lala, is a 1-year-old smooth-coated Chow Chow who came to us from the New Braunfels shelter. She has suffered severe hair loss on her back due to chemical burns, which might have been caused by cheap topical flea prevention or a severe flea infestation. Lala is very sweet and people-oriented, always wanting to be near her human companions. While generally low-key, Lala gets the zoomies twice a day, showing off her playful energy.

Lala has shown significant distress during thunderstorms; however, a thunder jacket has helped her cope better. She is also not fond of water. She becomes jumpy and cries when water touches her back, likely due to her past injuries. Despite this, she has never shown any aggression, even under stress.

Lala enjoys playing with other dogs and has shown little interest in cats, which means she may be compatible with a feline sibling, given proper introductions. In addition, she is highly motivated by treats and food, which can be useful for training and bonding.
