My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kyla is a giant love bug! She puts her front paws on everyone and just wants to be held. If you are sitting, she will try and be in your lap and she is constantly rolling on her back for belly rubs. Kyla does not have a mean bone in her body and we have never seen anything negative with this girl (besides arguing with her siblings). She gets along great with other dogs and cats too, but she does not like chickens. Kyla is also gentle and calm.  Her mother was a Great Pyrenees and we don't know what Dad is. She has wavy and thick, medium length hair.  If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or to to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.

More about this shelter

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 10 individuals and a full-time paid employee shelter manager that handles the day to day operations, and three part-time paid employees that feed and care for the animals and keep the facility clean. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.
