My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you like having a good time and hanging out with others that do too Roxy is the girl for you!! This amazing 3 year old with a silly under-bite is all about having the best time. She is a joy to be with and all of our dog walkers rave about her. She likes to chase the ball, roll in the grass, get belly rubs and most importantly be with people! Roxy does well with most dogs her size and bigger, but no small dogs or cats please. She is very clean in her kennel. Roxy came to us from an overcrowded GA shelter while there and here she has been to many public events and everyone loves meeting her and she loves meeting everyone. Roxy will be your sunshine on a rainy day, and don't we all need someone like that in our life?!

More about this shelter

We're a small shelter in Vermont covering 11 towns in Windsor County. We have a small but very dedicated staff, and an active volunteer program. We have been rescuing cats and dogs since our inception in 1941, when a wonderful woman turned her barn into a shelter. Since then we've grown quite a bit and have recently redone our entire kennel area - we have sun tubes for natural light, radiant heat in the floors, a music program and an aromatherapy program. All through the generous donations of the public. Our cats live comfortably in community cat rooms where they are free to roam and climb and play - one cat room even has a fully fenced outdoor enclosure. We have acres of field for dog walking, and a small agility course set up in an outdoor kennel. We have a large puppy room, and a larger still puppy play area outside.
