Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Mr Grumpy is approximately 2 years of age, around 17 pounds, neutered and fully vaccinated terrier/poodle mix. He IS potty & crate trained but still mastering the leash!
He is extremely affectionate , sociable and has a calm demeanor. Mr Grumpy gets along well with other dogs, adults and children alike but can be grumpy at times (hence the name). He should be able to learn your family’s routine rather quickly and become part of the gang in no time!!!
Mr Grumpy was found wandering the streets alone flea & tick/mange ridden. Thankfully, FHSTJ was there at the right place and time & intervened in July 2024.
Mr Grumpy has a lot of love to give and longs for a family who can provide him with the affection and attention he craves. He deserves a warm and loving home where he can feel cherished as a member of the family!!!

We take great care in being sure that each adoption is a good fit for both the animal and the adopter. Once the adoption is finalized, after a 1 week trial period, we follow up with the adopter (sometimes more time is needed) making sure that the pet is well adjusted to its surroundings and its new owner.
We also ask that they take the adopted pet to their Vet to have the pet checked out even though we have done so prior to the adoption.

We have adoption events almost every weekend. Our Adoption events take place at Petco & Petsmart, our adoption partners. We also participate in other adoption events in the city of San Diego, CA, i.e., the Doggy Street Festival (at Liberty Station) as well as all the events sponsored by the Animals Support Foundation, that take place in Grossmont, San Diego.

More about this rescue
The greater Tijuana area of 3 million people and thousands of abandoned street animals needs more individuals doing rescues and organizing neighborhood spay events. FHSTJ Does not run a shelter. Instead, it supports grass roots organizations and individual rescuers. This allows us to serve many more animals at any given time, due to this unique system of support. This is accomplished by giving financial support to rescuers and groups which could not function without the generosity of FHSTJ donors.
In summary, we support street rescues, mass spay and neuter clinics, pet owners with extremely limited resources needing veterinary care for their animals as well as public education programs, adoption programs for rescuers, and a pet food distribution program for animals in need.
