My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Bernadette, and I recently traveled here all the way from Alabama to find my forever home. I am the perfect size and age as I only weigh 35 pounds and am about 1½ years old. My foster mom tells me I am the sweetest pup ever and that I have a lot of love and affection to give because I like to snuggle and stay close to my humans. Besides snuggling, I enjoy chewing on bones, playing with toys, running around the fenced yard, and going on walks. Oh... and I love getting belly rubs! I am fully potty trained and do not mind staying in my pen sometimes when my foster family goes out. I am genuinely a very happy pup, but I still get a little scared when there is too much commotion and sudden loud noises. I do get along well with other dogs and would be fine with having a fur brother or sister, but also would not mind if it was just me that got all the attention. My foster mom says that I am a very good girl and I am going to be a great addition to any family. Could that be you?

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
