My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: 8/1/2020
Breed: Lab Mix
Personality: Hercules is a big teddy-bear looking for his furever home. Some of his favorite things include belly rubs, playtime, and sunbathing. He'd be perfect for hikes or just cuddles on the couch (if he can fit!)

Some notes from his foster family:

He knows basic commands like sit, lay down, shake, roll over, stay, and come. While he can be a bit stubborn at times, he's very food motivated and eager to learn. Hercules walks well on a leash, pulling only occasionally and responding easily to corrections. He’s housebroken—no accidents in our home! Hercules loves being outdoors and is happiest when he’s outside, whether it’s going for walks, hanging out on the deck, or retrieving sticks and diving for rocks at the lake. He’s great with most dogs, and with a little guidance, he handled even more challenging introductions well. He’s reactive to our outdoor cat but is easily redirected with some attention. Best of all, Hercules is incredibly gentle and patient with our three young children, fitting right into the daily chaos of a busy household. He loves to "go," whether it’s a car ride or a golf cart trip, and while he has plenty of energy for playtime, he also enjoys snuggling on the couch. If you’re looking for an affectionate, active dog who’s great with kids and other pets, Hercules could be the perfect fit for your family!

He is currently in foster, if you'd like to schedule to meet , give us a call at the shelter! 417-272-8113..

More about this shelter

Our facility was opened in 1978. We have 7 employees. We provide a pretty good life for our shelter animals while always trying to get them adopted into new loving homes. We take cats PetSmart in Springfield every two weeks. We also take advantage of as many remote adoption events as possible. We receive no funding from any city, state or government agencies. We survive through donations, fundraisers and our Thrift Shop (resale store) located in downtown Reeds Spring, MO. We also have a Guardian Angel Program. Guardian Angels can provide care for a specific animal for $25 per month. They receive a picture of animal, bio and periodic updates about their adopted pet. We have a spay/neuter fund and take donations for that. All of our pets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
