Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.
Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.
thanks

Date into Rescue: 08/14/2024
Reason for being in rescue: surrendered by owners
Foster location: Greensboro NC Janis and David Cross
Special Needs? Talia is up to date on vaccines for her age. Talia is a F3 multigenerational doodle. Her mom Gabriella is 3/4 poodle and 1/4 old English sheepdog. We were told that dad is the same mix. Talia is not hypoallergenic. We cannot guarantee that she will not shed.
Weight: 15 lbs and growing - we expect Talia will be between 60-70 lbs when full grown
Height: 6 in and growing - we expect Talia be between 22-24 in when full grown
Spayed/Neutered: No, Talia is too young to be spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter agenda requiring you to spay her at your cost within 9 months and provide proof of spay.
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? Yes, Talia requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller
What kind of home would be best for me? Talia is a very young dog looking for an experienced owner with the time required to properly raise and socialize a puppy. She requires a home with another young, active dog in the home for play and socialization. She requires a home that can offer him consistency and routine, and where someone is home more than they are away. Our ideal puppy owners have someone in the home that is home during the day (work from home, stay at home parent, active retiree).
Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!
What is my personality like? Talia is young, happy and active. Her favorite things are playing with her siblings and cuddling for naps in the arms of her caregivers. She's full of puppy breath and puppy snuggles and all things puppy delight!
PUPPY POLICY:
Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog.
Our ideal puppy adopters are:
-experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets
-scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home
-stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc)
How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly
Other tips and tidbits: We were told Talia's birthday is 07/04/2024
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
