Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Lillian is a precious, sweet little girl who was given up by her previous owners who didn't have time for her. The good news is that they have already done the hard work of training, so she will make a wonderful dog for any family that adopts her!
Housebroken
Walks great on a leash
The softest pup you've ever felt
Crate trained
Loves other dogs
Fantastic with kids
Gives gentle licky kisses
Rides well in the car
Lillian loves to play and go for walks (she can walk for 45 minutes without batting an eye!), and has no problem settling in for snuggles and naps. She knows to sit and stay, and probably other commands, too, that we haven't seen yet!
She doesn't love it when her people leave the house (who does?!), so she'll sing while you're away, but is crate-trained. We anticipate that once she's settled into a safe forever home, she won't mind, especially if she has a canine companion or two to keep her company. (When she and her foster brother are home together, she howls much less.)
Lillian would love a home with adventure, other dogs, and lots of plays. She has played with dogs her age and tiny puppies, and properly adjusts her level of activity depending on who she's interacting with. Overall, she's a little angel!

We require submission of an online application. If all requirements are met, we do a home visit and check the vet reference (when it applies). Please refer to our website to see the kinds of questions we ask. We ask for a tax-deductible adoption donation of $400. Go meet their pets
We do not have a centralized location, but you can visit our website to find out when and where we hold our adoption events (usually twice a month). We also take part in special fairs and events. You can come and meet with some of our dogs then.
If you see a dog on our website that you are interested in, we request that you first fill out our Application and submit it electronically.

More about this rescue
Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland is dedicated to helping all beagles in need. Most of the dogs that come into the rescue are hunter rejects, either because they do not want to hunt, or because they are too old or simply ill. Our goal is to rehabilitate these wonderful companion dogs and place them in forever loving homes. We are a network of foster homes and rely solely on the dedication of volunteers. Our motto is: "Hug your hound, don't take him to the pound."
