My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABOUT LAINEY WILSON
Lainey was born at HAP's clinic, on June 26th, when her mom unexpectedly went into labor! Upon entering the world, all eleven puppies were unresponsive or struggling to survive. Our team leaped into action, performing life-saving, emergency care to save them. Thankfully, Lainey persevered and immediately went into foster with her littermates. Enduring such a traumatic birth can often result in developmental challenges, health complications, or, sadly, death. To ensure she received the care and treatment she needed, our veterinary technicians took turns fostering the puppies.

As Lainey grew stronger and healthier, our team noticed she had developed a deep ulceration on her nose. This caused part of her septum to develop incorrectly, shortening her septum as a result. Due to this, she required a Stenotic Nares specialty surgery, commonly known as a Rhinoplasty, to open her nostrils. Imagine pinching your nose and trying to breathe at the same time, this is how Lainey felt everyday. We are very excited to share that Lainey's procedue was a success and she is now living life as every puppy should, having fun!

Lainey is now 5 months old and waiting to find her forever home! She absolutely adores all people and other animals. She even met an alpaca today and greeted him with a kiss! In addition to being a social girl, Lainey is also super smart! She has learned basic commands, walks very well on leash, and is treat-motivated to learn. Lainey has done excellent in puppy playgroup and at events with other dogs. She has met many children and loves to match their playful energy!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
