My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petite Pup, Big Heart

Meet Polly Pocket is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We rescued Polly Pocket and her pups from a Texas Shelter. Now that the babies are weaned, she’s ready to find a new home of her own.

“Fur-st Impressions” are important! Schedule a meet and greet with Polly Pocket before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Polly Pocket’s adoption.

This petite pup packs a lot of love! Affectionate and gentle, Polly Pocket (an adult of about 2 years of age) is a smaller dog, trim and athletic, around 40 lbs. Belly rubs, pets, and cuddles are top of this girl’s favorite things list. If you give her the choice of a walk, playing with toys, or cuddling with you, she will pick the cuddles every time (though she is terribly fond of playing with her rope/bone combination toy). While Polly Pocket cherishes the company of her people (adults and children), and her preferred place is where you are, she may take time to reveal her inner social butterfly to strangers. Polly Pocket thoroughly enjoys fetching with her foster siblings, and she plays nicely with the indoor cat (though she will chase the outdoor barn cat). Polly Pocket is heartworm positive and currently receiving treatment for this condition which will require a visit in Spokane, WA once a month. Heartworm can be completely cured and does not affect quality of life in any way. Path of Hope Rescue will provide all medications, care, and education.

Polly Pocket has multiple skills; she is fully potty trained, sleeps through the night, and has her basic obedience commands in place (she loves treats and is very food motivated). Polly Pocket has excellent leash manners and enjoys her walks. She is fully crate trained as well.

Polly Pocket’s ideal home? Why yours, of course! This delightful, affectionate little girl would thrive in a home with a loving and adoring family who would ensure she learns the skills that will make her a well-rounded and happy dog. Polly Pocket has thrived in the company of other dogs who have shown her how to play (something a mama raising puppies on the street did not have the opportunity to do). Lots of snuggles, healthy food and delicious treats, and perhaps a comfy couch would be wonderful, too.  Adopt Polly Pocket today and add a touch of nostalgia and a whole lot of love to your life.

What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process?

  1. Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.

  2. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!).

  3. Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process.

  4. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family. (The process may differ slightly for long distance adopters.)

  5. Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time.

  6. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

  • Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

  • Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

  • Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250.  Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

  • At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

  • We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

  • Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

  • Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
