My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Joey came to us from a sad situation out of Red Lodge, MT (Carbon County). Someone called in an extreme case of neglect and several dogs who looked under weight and neglected on property.  The local shelter took them in and immediately called us.  Neutered and UTD on vaccines now and gaining weight since being with us.

Joey is around a year old, best guess. He is a classic puppy who needs training on basic behavior commands and would do best learning from another resident dog. Joey loves to be active going for runs, playing with other dogs, and walking the neighborhood. He does well with other dogs and loves to cuddle with his humans. Joey is a young dog who needs consistent direction, patience, and time so he can become comfortable and confident in his own skin. Given that he was intentionally starved and neglected during much of his adolescence, Joey needs time to know that he won't be abandoned again. Could you give him that gift?

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
