My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kip is looking for his forever home. Kip is approximately 2 years old and 8.5lbs. And he's 100% adorable!

Kip would love to join an active home; he is full of fun and loves to walk long and fast! He's also good at dog parks where he enjoys a good game of tag!  Check out his video!

Kip needs a home with another dog to provide companionship and guidance.

Kip is doing well on a leash. He has learned so much about walking in the busy streets of SF. He wants to interact with all the dogs he meets or sees while walking. He has

Kip has some separation anxiety. He has made huge improvements in that area and we do think that a 2nd dog in the home will really help keep that anxiety low. Kip can be reactive to new guests in the home but this can be managed by having Kip hang in his crate for a bit and then introduce him to the guests.

The ideal home for Kip. 1. Playful dog in the household 2. Quiet perhaps suburb environment 3. Lots of fun adventures and outings 4. laps, yes, he loves laps :)

Kip is fully potty-trained. Kip knows lots of basic commands...sit, come, stay.

Kip is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and he's had a recent dental.

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. To recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for KIP is $300.

If you are interested in adopting KIP, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, and confined to the SF Bay Area.

Additional adoption info

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy foster to forever transition. The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home check, and an adoption donation. The adoption donation helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.

More about this rescue

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and other local shelters, through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs in a loving home until a forever loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes. All of our dogs are in foster care.
