My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This 2 year old was found on the 4th of July weekend hence the name BANG! He's a sweet, outgoing guy. Bang was trapped outside the spay/neuter clinic when they were looking for another cat that got out of its carrier at drop off. Since he was such a nice cat, the clinic neutered him and fostered him and has tried to find him a good home. Since he lived on the streets for some time, we do not recommend him in a home with other cats or small kids just yet. He was adopted for a very short time and did not do well with the resident cat. We believe that Bang will be a wonderful companion to someone who will be patient with him as he adjusts to indoor life and that he will BLOSSOM into the great pet he is meant to be if he were chosen by patient people. It has been our experience that it takes up to 3 MONTHS for a newly adopted pet to adjust to a new home and three weeks before any introduction should be done to resident animals anyway. Please be patient with him since he has been tossed around a good bit over the last few weeks and that is surely a setback.

More about this rescue

We are an entirely volunteer adoption outreach program for New Hanover and Brunswick County Animal Controls. We seek to increase their adoptions by bringing animals off site directly to potential adopters. We concentrate on the animals that have run out of time or have special needs. We move them to a safe haven with private citizens, strive to provide them with every veterinary or behavioral need and then we find them a forever home. We also try to educate about the plight of homeless animals in our community and about the necessity for spaying and neutering. We have recently opened a spay and neuter clinic in Winnabow, NC.
