My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bree is an adorable and friendly bottle-raised puppy! Her coloring is darker than her sister Brandy. Bree loves chest and neck scratches. She gets a peaceful look on her face and leans in for more. Bree is really responsive to praise and finds it very motivating when learning something new. They have been exposed to new people, including children, big dogs, small dogs, cats, and are doing well. These sisters are both fully crate trained and are working on potty training in other areas of their foster home. They hardly ever bark and even sleep through the night! Both Brandy & Bree were raised by hand in a WCAL foster home since they were just two weeks old and as a result, these puppies now believe they are part human and are extra affectionate and loving. We ask that all WCAL puppy adopters commit to attending a 4 week-long reward-based training class with their new puppy (we'll help you find a qualified, dog-friendly trainer near you). This is the best way we know how to help you bond with your new pup, give you access to current training techniques and ensure that your new dog becomes a well-rounded member of society. We believe in being proactive and know from experience that the best time to train a dog is NOW! It's important that the dogs we rescue get the very best start to reduce their chances of being surrendered to a shelter or banished to a backyard as an unruly, untrained adolescent who is no longer cute and small. If you don't have time to attend training classes with a puppy or aren't home enough to give them three meals a day while they finish growing up, please consider choosing an adult dog or waiting to adopt until your schedule is more flexible. She and her sister were surrendered to a veterinary hospital when they were struggling as young two week old babies and the clinic reached out to WCAL for help. Brandy is lighter than her sister Bree in coloring. We have one photo of their mama who is a tan pit mix and are told that daddy is a chocolate lab mix, but can't verify that since we didn't get to meet either of the adult dogs. While we can guess that this puppy will grow to be a LARGE dog, we have not met either parent and do not know the specific breed mix. Before applying to adopt, it's important to verify that this pup will be welcomed by your landlord and homeowners insurance, regardless of breed. Follow us on social media for daily updates!
