I wish I could see the world through Wendy's eyes. She's so full of wonder and joy - everything everywhere is awesome! What I saw as a muddy puddle, Wendy saw as a magical portal to a beautiful, petite hound girl (I didn't have the heart to tell her it was her reflection!). A dusty pinecone became The! Best! Toy! Ever! And a buzzing cicada became a fabulous new friend! This young, sweet pup gleefully zips and zooms her way through life. She races from one fantastic adventure to another, then dramatically throws herself down at your feet, belly-up, hoping for rubs! Everyone loves Wendy - we even saw some of our less social dogs wiggle and play-bow when Wendy stopped by. Wendy came to us from an overcrowded shelter. We don't know what her past was like, but one thing's clear - Wendy is joyfully rocking the present, and would love to have a bright and shiny future with YOU! Wendy is heartworm positive. Animal Aid will cover all treatment costs, even after you bring her home. Please visit Wendy any day (including weekends and holidays) between 9am and noon. If all goes well and you decide to pursue adoption, you will be asked to complete a pre-adopt. Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, your application will be submitted to the Adoption Committee for review. We estimate the pre-adoption process can take up to 14 days or longer.
Please note: AAS is committed to finding the best fit for each of our dogs. For this reason, we will accept multiple applications for a dog. In the case of multiple applications, we will select the applicant that is the best fit based on the needs of the dog.
Adoption fee for puppy/adult dogs is $280.00.
Adoption fee for senior dogs is $140.00.
Dogs qualify as a senior based on their stature/weight and age. The scale below shows the age at which a dog attains “senior” designation:
0-20 lbs: 11 years
21-50: 10 years
51-90: 8 years
91+: 7 years

We are a nonprofit organization that receives no funding from state or federal agencies. All of the funds required to maintain the shelter and care for the dogs come from donations and special fund-raising events. Donations to the shelter are tax deductible.
Our dogs are not euthanized for space. This means that new dogs can only be accepted by the shelter when we have an available kennel.

Spayed or neutered
Regularly walked and exercised
