Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bergy!
A confident and playful two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Boston Terrier mix from Temecula, CA, who’s as charming as she is energetic. With her chocolate brown coat accented by patches of white, Bergy is a stunning little lady who’s ready to find a loving family that will embrace her strong spirit and affectionate nature.
Bergy’s journey began with a rough start, but she’s now thriving at a healthy weight of thirty pounds, thanks to the care she’s received. This smart and spirited girl has shown a strong affinity for playing tug-of-war, chasing balls, and chewing on her favorite Nyla bones. Her love for outdoor activities, especially playing chase, makes her the perfect companion for an active family. When it comes to cuddles, Bergy knows how to melt hearts! Every morning, she greets her foster mom with a sweet gesture—paws on shoulders and kisses galore, showing her tender and affectionate side.
Bergy has bonded beautifully with the children and one of the other dogs in her foster home, demonstrating her loving nature, especially around young ones. However, she does have a strong alpha personality, making her more compatible with a submissive dog who’s willing to let her take the lead. While Bergy thrives on companionship, she also appreciates having her own space, particularly during mealtime. She’s protective of her food, so a bit of personal space during feeding time is key.
Though Bergy enjoys her crate and sleeps quietly through the night, she would benefit from additional leash training to curb her enthusiasm during walks. True to her terrier roots, Bergy is highly prey-driven and loves to chase small animals like lizards and birds. Her future family should be mindful of this trait, especially during outdoor adventures.
While she’s an absolute joy with children, it’s unclear how Bergy would interact with cats or very young toddlers, so a bit of patience and observation will be necessary. Above all, Bergy’s heart is set on being loved, cuddled, and engaged in playful activities with her future family!
Are you ready to welcome this sweet and confident girl into your life? Bergy is eager to bring endless love, joy, and loyalty to a new home that’s as energetic and loving as she is. Contact us today at adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet Bergy today!
