My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sam, an adult canine who is the embodiment of friendliness and goofiness. His antics will leave you in fits of laughter, and his affectionate nature will warm your heart. Sam is a master at fetch, and his playful energy is infectious. But, he also knows when to settle down and enjoy a quiet evening. Sam is a dog who loves to be loved, and he has an endless supply of love to give in return. Adopt Sam, not just because he's a dog in need, but because he's a friend you didn't know you were missing.

More about this shelter

The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
