Meet Gypsy, a lively puppy with a heart full of love. Her friendly and playful nature is contagious and she has a knack for making everyone around her smile. She is a cuddle bug who loves to snuggle up and enjoy a good nap after a day of exploration. Gypsy is gentle and curious, always eager to learn and experience new things. She weighs 28 pounds and loves going for walks had has demonstrated that she probably started to learn a little bit about house training in her past. She knows the sit command. Her energy is boundless, making her the perfect companion for active families. She loves running, tugging, and toys. She`s also a social butterfly who doesn`t like being alone and easily gets along with other dogs, cats, and children. She is easygoing, friendly, and playful with one and all but can be bossy and overwhelming around other dogs. However, Gypsy is a bit of a chewer and can be noisy at times, but with proper training, she`ll quickly learn the house rules. If you`re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun-filled addition to your family, Gypsy is the perfect fit. She`s ready to find her forever home where she can share her love and zest for life. CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.
CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
