Hoover was all dressed up for his very own photo shoot today and got the devasting news.... he is heartworm positive.
ECAC has had half a dozen cases in the past year...
ECAC is staying consistently full with dogs, and unfortunately, the medical cases keep piling up. We are pleading for a licensed rescue or adopter to get Hoover the medical care he needs.
Hoover is a sweet Hound at only about a year old. So far, he hasn't seemed to mind the cats or other dogs here at the shelter. Since Hoover is heartworm positive, he will need a quiet, calm home while he undergoes treatments. The shelter life is no place for a heartworm positive dog.
