Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Greetings from Smokey, a timid girl looking for her furever people. After coming to the Calgary Humane Society through no fault of her own, Smokey has had a rough time in shelter, as she is very stressed out. As such, she would do best in a quieter home with people who will help her adjust to the world at her own pace. Once she is comfortable, Smokey is very cuddly, and loves to bat around fluffy balls that you throw! Her soft chirp will be sure to let you know when she's looking for some attention. As a longer haired cat, Smokey will need regular grooming to ensure her coat stays clean and healthy. Will it be you who comes to take her home?

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
