My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An approved adoption application is required to meet me in my foster home -- fill out an application today! Our mailing address is Reston, VA and our cats fostered in NoVA and DC homes.  Washington, D.C.- Suburban Virginia/Maryland Area inquiries only, please!

There's no better "Wingman" then Opie!

Floofy Opie is what is known as a ‘dog-cat’.  This young fellow is just excited to greet you at the door at the end of your long day.  He’s a champion snuggler, and will listen attentively to all your problems.  He also likes to give advice in the form of purrs and chirps.  He’s got a great big personality, glad to be your boyfriend and #1 wingman!    He’s never met a dog, but would probably be ok with a slow introduction.   Kids are just fine, he seems to love everyone he meets!  Opie is FIV+,  but like most indoor-only  FIV+ cats, he is very healthy.  He’s been checked out head to toe by our most excellent vets and he is ready for your home!   FIV+ kitties can live a normal lifespan so it really isn’t that big a deal, so Come and meet your new family man!

The FIV virus is not a reason not to adopt!  It is not transmissible to people or to non-cat

species and is not a death sentence.   It simply reduces a cat's immune system as the cat

ages, which can leave the cat more vulnerable to other feline infections later in life.

Cat to cat transmission does not occur with casual contact and it is not airborne.

Cats who are FIV+ live long, happy lives!  Please check out the below informational links about FIV to understand why it is not a reason to shy away from adopting:
