- Dean is heartworm positive and is currently receiving treatment through TLC Rescue.
- He settled in after about 3 days and quickly became comfortable in his new environment.
- Dean usually needs a moment to warm up to new people or dogs, but he can be outgoing when he wants attention
- He shows affection by coming up for head scritches while you sit on the couch.
- Dean has a gentle, old soul demeanor. He’s a sweet, loving companion who bonds closely with his humans.
- Dean has a playful side, getting excited and wiggly when he wakes up and heads outside in the morning.
- He enjoys sniffing around the yard, brief play sessions with other dogs, and napping—his favorite activity.
- He’s generally a low-key dog.
- Dean loves being outdoors
- He likes treats but isn’t particularly enthusiastic about learning new commands.
- Dean does well with crate training but sometimes needs guidance to go inside. He settles well in his crate, occasionally whining but not excessively
- Dean is housebroken.

- Cat-friendly: Dean shows no interest in cats, typically sniffing and walking away.
- A quieter home with older children would suit Dean best due to his shy nature and preference for calm environments.

Additional adoption info

When you adopt from TLC, you become a part of our family. We will be there for you with continued support even after adoption.

At TLC, our adoption process is simple and straight-forward. We want you to find a new family member and we want our rescue dogs to find their forever home. There is no cost to apply and we do not require you to put a deposit on a dog to be able to meet a dog. An application does not obligate or limit you to adopting the dog listed on the application.

Applications are carefully considered and processed by our applications team. After submission, an adoption counselor will contact you to conduct an interview where together you will assess your needs and work to find the right match. We speak to veterinary references, landlords and personal references before approving an application.

More about this rescue

To Love a Canine Rescue, Inc. (TLC) is a non-profit, all breed, 100% foster-based, no-kill rescue operating in Chester County, PA. Our mission is to rescue and find permanent homes for abandoned, stray and surrendered dogs in order to minimize the needless euthanizing of animals.

We have a passion for saving dogs as well as a thirst to educate the community on reducing the number of dogs needing rescue. From puppies to seniors, there is a perfect dog out there for everyone. We pride ourselves on making the right connection between dog and family in order to give our dogs their final, joyful, loving home. Ultimately, our wish would be for empty shelters so no dog is left behind… until they all have a home.

TLC is designated as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS. Donations made to TLC are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law. The official registration and financial information of TLC may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling 1-800-732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
