Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you looking for a loyal, protective companion with a majestic presence? This litter of Akbash/Kangal/Asian Shepherd mixes might be the perfect addition to your family!
Breed Guess: Akbash/Kangal/Asian Shepherd (DNA Test Pending)
DOB: June 30, 2024
About the Breeds:
Akbash and Kangal are both ancient Anatolian herding breeds known for their intelligence, courage, and strong protective instincts. They are typically large dogs, with males reaching 28-31 inches in height and weighing 130-180 pounds. Females are slightly smaller but still substantial.
With nine puppies in this litter, there's a personality to match every family. From the cuddly cuddler to the mischievous explorer, you're sure to find your perfect furry friend!"
Potential Adopters:
Due to their size and protective nature, potential adopters must have experience with large breed dogs. These pups will require a committed owner who is willing to provide the training, socialization, and exercise they need to thrive. Additionally, we'd prefer adopting homes have at least one other social adult dog in the home. Renters must provide proof of their pet policy showing there are not any size restrictions - these pups are expected to be HUGE!
Adoption Process:
These puppies sikl be availble to go home on a foster-to-adopt basis as soon as this Sunday, August 25th. Adoptions will not finalize until after the spay/neuter has been completed, which will be scheduled when the puppies are between 4-6 months old.
Foster-to-Adopt Agreement Includes:
Vaccines to age, microchipping, deworming, & spay/neuter. Adopting homes must keep uo with vaccines and provide proof of vaccines to the rescue as they are completed. The vaccine schedule that will need to be followed is as shown below:
08/24: DAPPV # 1 & Bordetella # 1
09/21: DAPPV # 2 & Bordetella # 2
10/19: DAPPV # 3 & Rabies (NPOG no longer applies). Fecal test also due.
NPOG protocol applies for all underage puppies. :
We follow the "No Paws On the Ground" (NPOG) protocol for vaccinations. This means the puppies will not be allowed outside until they have received their third round of DAPPV, second round of Bordetella and their annual rabies vaccinations. This helps prevent the spread of disease.
One puppy per home due to risk of littermate syndrome.

More about this rescue
Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League (SNARL) exists to provide a better life for adoptable homeless, abandoned, or abused animals. We aim to assist in the effort of limiting the overpopulation of these animals as well as educate the public against breed or size discrimination. There is no such thing as a “bad breed”, only bad humans. Our mission is to make sure all of the animals we rescue are placed in loving, safe, and viable fur-ever homes.
