RANCH and FAMILY DOG
Syriah is great with kids, livestock, other dogs, and on the leash. She enjoys following her person around the ranch while doing chores, seeking out the company of other dogs, and sharing pup cups with the kids. The perfect size at only 39 lbs, this beautiful and smart lady is house trained, spayed, up to date on her shots, and looking for a forever home. Through no fault of her own, Syriah's previous owners adopted her from the shelter and abandoned her on the property years later when they had to move.
Syriah's wellness check shows her to be in tip top shape, she passes the "mother approved" test, and wants someone of her own to love. Syriah would be the perfect addition to a family or a person looking for a lifelong companion.
She is 8 years old, which is like being in her 30's or 40's in Australian Cattle Dog years. Past the puppy stage, but full of zest for life. If you would like to make memories with this perfect pal contact us today!
Our Adoption Process
1. Begins with a simple online application to help us understand your needs and what you would like in your furry friend.
2. Next, we invite you to send us a virtual walk through of your home including where the dog will sleep, play, and stay when you are away.
3. We move forward with a meet and greet! Personal chemistry is important and both the adopter and pup need to be feelin’ it.
4. We deliver your new family member to your home where you sign the adoption contract and present proof of paid enrollment in a basic obedience course. If you need help finding a reputable trainer please ask us for recommendations!

We believe that every dog deserves to be healthy, receive a basic education, and spend its life with owners who "speak the same language". To help everyone understand each other as soon as possible, we require the completion of a basic obedience course with each newly adopted dog.

The Dog House Rescue is the pet project of two dog lovers that wandered into a municipal animal shelter to pick up one new family member and left with seven. Like much of the public, we had mistakenly believed that most shelters are able to provide a no-kill haven for homeless animals. Due to overcrowding, the euthanasia rate at that facility alone is 80%. With the average dog having less than one week to find an adopter, it is easy to find great dogs who were simply born in an unfortunate geographic area.
We exist to help bridge the gap between loving homes seeking good citizen companions and good natured dogs looking for an opportunity to show their stuff. Those that have found themselves in a shelter (through no fault of their own) and would otherwise be euthanized for space are given medical treatment, spayed/neutered, and trained so that they can continue to be good citizens in their forever families.
