My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Louie was brought in by his previous owner on August 6, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Louie, the ultimate senior gentleman who's ready to grace your home with his distinguished and majestic presence! Louie is a sweet, head-butting love bug who can't resist a good head scratch or a cozy brushing session. Louie has a refined palate - wet food is his absolute favorite. Additionally, Louie will need vet visits once or twice a year to monitor his kidney values and his overall health, to keep him healthy! But let's get one thing straight: Louie has absolutely no tolerance for canine companions. Dogs beware - Louie runs a strict no-dog policy and isn't afraid to enforce it with a swift paw of justice. He's looking for a quiet, dog-free home where he can enjoy his golden years in peace. With a little patience and understanding, Louie will soon settle in and be your best feline friend. Be sure to bring a cat carrier when you come to meet him - Louie is ready to go home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
