(DOB 4/21/2024) Due to Liberty’s young age, she has not yet been spayed. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).
Liberty is EXTREMELY dog friendly and would be miserable as an only dog in the home. She also loves her kitty foster siblings and the kiddos, too! She would be a wonderful addition to a big and busy household. She is young and is high energy now and needs a fenced yard and the ability to run and play to burn excess energy. She does love to be outside as much as possible to just be a puppy and goof off, play with her friends, sniffing, exploring and just having a good 'ole time!
Even though Liberty is still young, she is quickly mastering potty training. Liberty has learned her routine in her foster home fairly well. Since she eats and goes for her last walk around 10:00, she will sleep in her crate until morning. She does not have accidents in her crate and does well waiting until morning to go for her potty break. She goes out for potty breaks frequently throughout the day when playing.
She learns quickly not only from her human foster family but the other dogs and cats in the home. They let her know what her puppy boundaries are; she is happy to adjust. She is a pup so plan for lots of play time with different toys and activities. Add in some daily walks, because she is already learning how to be well behaved on a leash. She has been to the vet and was a good girl and traveling anywhere in the car is joy! She loves it! She has no stranger fear and loves to meet new people and new pups. Everyone is a friend to Liberty.
Just to give you a run down, this is how well Liberty is quickly adjusting to her new foster family with ease. "Liberty is a playful and young hound mix. She is ready to play, explore, and run during her everyday routine. She loves cuddles and once she gets her zoomies out, she settles in well. She enjoys car rides and is very treat motivated. Liberty is a sweet and social puppy that will need time to play and interact with other animals. She learns well from her routine and pets in her foster home. She listens well to cues when walking and has improved with sitting and waiting when prompted. She does well with children that understand puppies need bones to chew and teeth on and older children that will help teach her boundaries and commands." So are YOU READY???
As part of Liberty’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Liberty, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org.
